A really delicious blend of Corvina 75%, Corvinone 15%, and Rondinella 10%. Concentrated flavours of black cherry, blueberry, and black plum. Extended age in oak barrels lends to a rounded structure and balanced acidicty which creates a long finish and a pleasant mouth feel. A slight feel of excess residual sugar might be too much for some. 15% abv. 89/100
Difficult to know where to begin with a wine with such prowess. On the nose aromas of black plum, red cherries, rose, subtle cedar wood, stewing meats, and warm jams. On the palate, one can see straight away this is a brilliantly well balanced wine. Very fine grained tannins and obvious acidity allows for this wine to be aged even further. Flavours of juicy ripe cherries, blackcurrants, and stewed plums, spicy notes of liqorice and clove add to its complexity. 100% Sangiovese from 30 year old vines. 14.5% abv. 95/100
A very dark example of a Brunello di Montalcino. Black cherry and black plum dominate with notes of leather and forest floor. Extremely full bodied with finely intergrated tannins. The wine concludes with a warm and comforting finish. Not as many primary fruits you'd expect from a wine of this calibre, however it is still a gorgeous wine. 100% Sangiovese.14.5% abv. 91/100
