From a cooler than average vintage, this wine does not immediately display your usual characteristics of a Syrah. Obvious acidity and very subtle tannins surround a delicate palate of blackberries, black plum, black cherry, vanilla, and cedar wood from 18 month French barrel. Given its age of 5 years, there is no sign of tertiary development so far. A pleasant wine which has character, however, you do have to look for it. The finish was medium to medium +. 14% abv. 84/100
